STAMP DUTY (REMISSION) ORDER 2000
From 1 Jan 2000 to 31 Dec 2000 there will be no stamp duty on transfer of title of a house from developer to a purchaser for properties less than RM75,000 and a 50% remission for properties of RM75,000 or more but less than RM150,000

Below incentives are the "minimum" as most developers, banks, insurance companies offer better than the minimum incentives.

Package of Incentives Offered :

  1. Purchase of properties by non-residents/foreigner
        a. No restriction on purchase of properties above RM250,000 (after discount).
        b. Blanket (automatic) approval by FIC upon application.
c. Margin of Financing :
Non-resident abroad - Up to 50% financing
Non-resident working in Malaysia - same as margin of financing applies
to residents.
  1. Stamp Duty
  1. Stamp Duty is waived on :
  1. Treasury/Government Housing Loan
  1. Instant confirmation on eligilibity to obtain loan.
  2. Government Servants who have served at least 1 year’s service
  3. are eligible to apply for this loan

  4. Speedier approval and release of loans
  5. Waiver of processing fee.
  1. EPF Withdrawal
    Instant issuance of structured certificate on "eligibility" of account
    holders.

Cost of Properties Min Discounts

RM100,000 and below Non-Bumi - Min 5% discount
Bumi - Additional 5% discount

Above RM100,000 and Non-Bumi - Min 10% discount
below or equal RM200,000 Bumi - Additional 5% discount

Above RM200,000 Non-Bumi - Min 10% discount
Bumi - Additional 10% discount
the existing discount shall prevail, and bumiputera buyers shall not be entitled to any
additional discounts.

RM500,000 - RM750,000 RM2,300 (flat)
RM750,000 - RM1 million RM3,000 (flat)
RM1 million RM4,000 (flat)
