    ACTIVITIES:

    A. Computer Centre

    Children interested in computers will be able to enjoy the facilities provided by the Service Centre.

    This computer centre has 11 computers. There are 8 units of 286 model donated by Wisdom Computer Centre and another 3 units of 486 model sponsored by INTEL, Penang.

    Since most computers are out-dated, YB Tan Cheng Liang has appealed to the public to donate more advance computers and programs to the computer centre.

    B. Mini Library

    To inculcate good reading habits, YB Tan Cheng Liang has built a mini library at the service centre in Taman Berjaya, Nibong Tebal. All residents whether children or adults are welcomed. The collection of books include examination guide-books, literature, encyclopedia, story books, novels and others.

    At the moment, the mini library has attracted 500 members and 30 helper librarians and it is open 7 days a week.

    C. Counselling Bureau

    Most social problems are caused by family problems. Counselling Bureau is formed to overcome family related problems like marriage problems, adolescent problems and others. The Bureau is open every Monday from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.

    D. Free Legal Aid Bureau

    With the fast development in society, there is also a rise in social pressure resulting in the increase of cases related to the families, child abuse and the like. This Free Legal Aid Bureau is to help the ladies and children who fall victims to these abuses. This service is rendered every Wednesday from 8.30 pm to 10.00 pm.

    Counselling is given to the victims concerned to overcome their problems. Legal advice is given and legal action is considered as a last recourse where all avenues of remedy failed. The final decison is always in the hands of the victims.

    These services are rendered by our solicitor, Mr. Kenny Goik who is also a member of the Counselling Bureau.

    E. Mobile Service Centre

    Taking into consideration the residents' immobility and lack of transportation, YB Sdri. Tan Cheng Liang and her team of service volunteers operate a mobile service centre to receive complaints and render services to the residents. The mobile services are rendered once every two weeks on Saturday from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm in the rurul areas of Jawi, Valdor and Bukit Tambun villages.

    F. Problem Solving by Interacting

    Service through interacting with the residents, YB Tan Cheng Liang with her assistants visit her constituency to solve problems like flooding, breakdown in drainage, roads, dam problems and difficulties related to the residents' daily woes. Problems are solved quickly and efficiently.
